Submit a Tip

Use this form to submit a tip for consideration for our Observers. This is not an article submission form: see submission policies within individual channels for advice on submitting features or essays. In submitting links for our Observed column, please consider the following:

Use specific URLs that take us to the item you are recommending.
Please submit permalinks to a specific entry on a site, not the main url. If you want us to consider an article by Nicolai Ouroussoff from The New York Times, do not send a link to the Times homepage. We want the specific link to the specific item you are recommending, and without a lot of URL noise (your sign in information, for example). Please use permalinks.

Tell us why we or our readers should care.
A submission that says, "My site is really good on slow food" is unlikely to get our attention. Tell us why the link is important or interesting or bizarre.

We do not publish press releases.
Don't waste your time. Email press releases without a linkable URL are trashed immediately. If you think your project is newsworthy, please supply a usable URL and tell us why our readers might care to know more.

Tell us concisely what your link is about.
Links without explanation will be trashed. Tell us enough to want to know more.

Use this form for Observed suggestions and not for personal email.
The editors of Design Observer would prefer to receive suggestions for our Observed column through this form — rather than through personal email. We have lives too. Design Observer staff will know who to contact about content suggestions across our numerous channels. If you wish to reach an editor or contributor personally, our email addresses are available with our author bios.
